'Megyn Kelly Today' took a serious hit in its second week, with the show's ratings down from both its premiere week and the same week one year prior when Al Roker, Billy Bush and Tamron Hall were hosting 'Today's Take.'

The program closed out the week averaging 2.21 million total viewers, good for a 1.8 rating overall and 0.5 in the adults 25 - 54 demo according to Nielsen numbers.

That was down from the 2.5 million viewers and 0.6 rating in the key demo that 'Megyn Kelly Today' notched during premiere week, and even further behind the year-over-year ratings for the program.

There was a turnaround on Monday however, when Megyn scored her highest numbers yet for her sit-down with Harvey Weinstein accuser Lauren Sivan.

The network does not appear to be all that concerned with the decline in ratings either, with an insider saying: 'She posted her highest ratings yet in the key demo Monday after the second week on the air. Everyone knows ratings always fluctuate at the start of a new show.'

Overall viewers for Megyn's second week were down 24 percent from that same week one year prior, when Al Roker, Tamron Hall and Billy Bush were hosting the show.

There was an even bigger drop in the key demo, which was down 38 percent from that week, which would ultimately be Bush's last on the program following the release of the infamous 'p****gate' tape.

As DailyMail.com reported last week, Megyn is set to receive $69 million over the course of three years thanks to he lucrative contract with NBC.

Hall, who hosted 'Today' and her MSNBC program while also filling in for Lester Holt on 'NBC Nightly News,' was making less than $2 million a year when Megyn was brought in to replace her on 'Today.'

Megyn's lower numbers are not just impacting here either, as the fourth hour of 'Today' is also down year-over-year as a result of the weakened lead-in, with their decrease in overall viewers nearly identical to the previous hour of the NBC morning show.

Meanwhile, numbers for Kelly Ripa and Ryan Secarest's ABC morning show are finally in for their first week against Megyn, with the syndicated program beating the third hour of 'Today' by double digits.

'Live With Kelly & Ryan' averaged 2.85 million viewers versus the 2.51 million Megyn had in her premiere week, giving the show a 14 percent lead.

In the key demo, 'Live' averaged 887,000 for the week versus 765,000 for Megyn, with their 0.7 rating eking out a win over Megyn's 0.6 rating.

'Megyn Kelly Today' is still within striking distance however, and made up some ground on Monday in a big way by pulling in 2,695,000 total viewers and 927,000 in the key demo.

Those were the show's highest numbers in the key demo since it premiered last month, and just shy of its overall audience high.
