Boy, 17, arrested after crash which killed 74-year-old woman and injured three others

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash in south east London in the early hours of the morning.

Police and paramedics were called Westerham in Bromley at about 2.35am on Wednesday, and discovered two cars in a bush.

A 74-year-old woman had suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

A man in his 70s, in the same car as the woman, was taken to hospital with a broken leg, while another woman was treated for minor injuries.

The boy, aged 17, who was the driver of the other car, was arrested at the scene and was taken to hospital to be checked over.

He will then be taken to a south London police station for questioning.

No pedestrians were injured in the collision.
